I dun want to explain every words, say, or anything like that came from everyone's mouth.. i knew that all who involved directly or indirectly with the project fully satisfied with the project outcome..As for myself as the project advisor, This is IT...I knew wat i'm doing, for whom i did this...n i luv every second of it.. Thanks to all.....(if there's any words that can replace the word 'thanks', i wud say it again, again and again...)

P/s (wish(still) that i cud update tis blog at workplace- so that i can give much detail reports on our project and cud teach the kids how to handle this blog thing...but well.. till the end of the deadline day, we still din get any response from MOE..)

"The stage looks amazing!", this is my ultimate favourite quote, said by my colleague who are now pursuing his study in England... Amazing thanx too.. it really boost up my spirit...even though he only saw it in our blog...

Well, i knew that everyone talking the same thing... From the teachers, pupils, parents and spectators who already came to our school and even attend the activity, they saw the future in it..in our "Merdeka Stage"..A few parents and teachers even said, if the former headmaster of SK.Paris, could see the stage now, he must be "teruja" since it was one of his last wish(to renovate and complete the stage) before he died a few years ago...

Now, everyone really excited to held any event in the Merdeka Stage...Our next big thing is tomorrow nite where there will be another "Jamuan Raya' sponsored by some teachers who just had been promoted based on "time-based"...and then there will be the final event in the school calendar..Prize Giving Day..for the first time we will use the stage for the big event...thanx to the Maxis who made these things happen....If no such Maxis Cyberlinq competition, i dunno whether the pupils and teachers of SK.Paris will get the chance to have such a beautiful and comfortable stage..

In conjunction with the "Merdeka Stage" completion, also as we're still in 'Hari Raya" celebration, we will held a "makan-makan" or "jamuan" which we named it Jamuan Mesra Aidilfitri, near the stage area..and of course we will use the new, 'fresh' stage for the first time since its completion. Wait for our final report!! Hope that u'll enjoy reading our blog and wait patiently for the next one...Arigato Gozaimas...

CAMPAIGN REPORT

Alhamdulillah...as for today we had already collected the donation amounted RM1,307.20 from the pupils, parents, individuals and companies.These money were already used for the 'Merdeka Stage' project expenses. The total expenditure will be finalled in our next/final report. I personally think that the campaign was a big success since we expected the RM1 for Comfort Campaign at least gained RM1 from each pupil. So it was expected to get about RM400 from the pupils...but from the huge supports we got from the pupils, our team collected RM85.40 at first day, and RM114 for the second day... almost RM200 for the first two days only...

99% TO PROJECT COMPLETION..

I'm back...its been a week since my last update...I hate to say this...but i'm upset over MOE's failure response over my request to unblock some needed websites(especially blogger.com) to participate actively in this competition.

My first email got fast response from the GITN info service. They were already forwarding my problems to MOE and i need to wait their permission.

Now, it's almost a month, i didn't get any permission yet to access the websites... If i live in a big city, got a 24 hours full access to the internet, maybe i wouldn't be these sad and mad. Now here i'm, stucked in this rural area, with the only internet connection is the schoolnet, and have the urge to update the project blog on frequent basis. I need to go to LD town which is an hour away from my school...*uwaaa...* a very challenging fasting month indeed!

I really hope that MOE can consider my problems since i was already emailed them twice to ask the status of my request.

Deadline Extension (6th November)

We're grateful that the deadline had been extended to 6th November. It's not that we think we couldn't finish the project till the old deadline(26th October), but sure not anyone would be happy to do anything in rush. As there's a week of Hari Raya holiday, we sure each and everyone wants to spend some valuable time with their family n friends, as for me, that is the time for me to balik kampung..

9 Sept
- I had emailed the GITN and asked their permission to unblock certain websites needed to access web relating to the Maxis Cyberlinq competition. I got immediate reply (thanx 4 the fast service) and need to give them details on my request. They need to ask MOE's permission first.

11 Sept
- login to Maybank2u to check the fund given by Maxis. Already in.

13 Sept
- Met the construction workers. Discussion over the stage design and costs. There were changes over previous stage design as we thought an extra gate and tiled-floor will make the stage much prettier and comfortable. The new cost expected is RM2500. WOW! What a cost!

17 Sept-
Met GB to discuss the plan and financial matters. GB approved the plan and instructed us to continue the project despite the overbudget. GB can only allocates RM500 school fund and promised to get donation to cover the balance.
Discussion with the team. Agreed that we need to raise donation within school. Made letter to ask GB's permission to raise money thru donation campaign. Named it "RM1 For Comfort" Campaign. It is expected to run for a period of a month staring from 24th September.

WE HAD BEEN SELECTED!!

to , we're very excited n thankful that our school had been selected to compete in the Phase 2, 2007 competition. I'm sure for the next 1 n a half month, it will become one of the busiest time of the year 2007 for us in SK. Paris.. I'm just wondering why they put us under Primary school category and not the Cyberkids School category... anyway, we're ready to rumble!! GO! GO! GO!

-hmmm.. we all thinking the same, boy!...

We (the teachers and students of SK. Paris) are craving for a proper and comfortable stage as the old one only offer the very basic stage for any school events. It almost 50 year merdeka but our school still have the same plain stage used 15 ten years ago. For the first few months of 2007, we had used it for Bulan Bahasa and Motivasi Camp for Year 6 pupils. We remembered sometimes during the event, where it was raining heavily and a thunderstorm, suddenly the handmade roof began to collapse. Thank God there was no accident happened that day.

A few years back, we had even discussed it with the construction workers to prepare the budget details of the stage renovation. But the cost expected didn’t meet our tight budget and then left unsaid. We see the opportunity during our team discussion over the Maxis CyberlinQ competition and think beyond it. So, today we propose to the Maxis team, our Merdeka stage. A stage that can provide a nice and comfortable feel during one single performance. Make pupils and teachers build their confidence onstage, make them feel safety and happy , then unite the teachers, pupils and even parents.

MERDEKA STAGE

Project Objective:

To provide a nice, proper and comfortable stage that can be used for any school events or occasions.
To provide a roofed-stage that can protect the pupils, teachers or any people from bad weather during on-stage events.
To renovate and upgrade the original plain stage
To provide an enjoyable experience for pupils or local community that perform on the stage.

Project Structure:

1. Discussion over Maxis CyberlinQ 2007 competition with the school authority and cyberkids team. Form the ITeam Cyber and lay out the plan.

2. Meeting again for the budget planning and activities that will be carry out during the project completion. Draw out the plan.

3. Create the CQblog, update daily and register. Hopeful waiting.

Roof - 25 x RM5 = RM125
Cement - 20 x RM16 = RM320
Wood - 50 x RM8 = RM400
Beruti - 20 x RM7 = RM140
Tiles - 150 x RM1.50 = RM225
Bricks - 100 x RM0.50 = RM50.00
Maxis Banner - = RM70.00
Paint & Brush - = RM78.00
T-shirt - 6 x RM20.00 = RM120
Others - = RM50.00

Total = RM1578

Expected Outcome

We hope that this stage will benefit not only students, teachers and local community as many activities can be carried out there. It also helps to build any person or group confidence during their on-stage performance. It's not only for the support of this coming 50th Merdeka celebration, as we also expect that many upcoming events will be held there as the new merdeka stage will encourage and instill enthusiasm and spirit, an enjoyable experience to any participants and spectators. It might be a simple project yet effective and meaningful and will benefit each and everyone in the neighbourhood.
